We explored the enigmas that surrounded our senses. I was the one who's always submerged in those mysteries trying to pry more out of the grit while you dragged me from one pebble to another. Recounting those adventures induces a certain sense of warmth however much your insensate hands were, in memory, as they laid in my clasp.
Initially a glowing ember, the sight of your peaceful expression burnt my eyes - metaphorically. Both of us had our own issues, and we spurred each other on to confront them. There were slips and falls as well as triumphs that we celebrated. If ramen was my celebratory meal, then a bottle of Honey Lemon Tea would be our champagne. You were never a good drinker of anything alcoholic....
Words linger when you're not here. I won't be able to purchase a bottle of our 'grog' now, so allow me to offer a toast 2 months later.
My peers recounted the days and agreed that "so much time has passed since their enlistment". Me, a brusque "F---ing finally."
Much to my dismay, I've been resenting the person I've become - so bitter about my life (in the military). Every "I've got NS" I'd used to reply my friends who needed me made my innards turn; it's simply not what I yearn to do. Call me weak-minded, uncooperative or whatever derogatory terms that you can think of as long as they can try to make you feel empowered as a citizen who believes oneself to be befitting of a patriotic title - I don't care. I'd just look at you with my dimmed eyes, dull expression, shoulders slouched, and you might even notice my 3-months young boots with excessively fagged out soles (because I dragged my legs to work). Then, hopefully as a friend, you'd realized how much I've changed and how little I've become.
I've found the accomplishment in completing another read earlier this morning in the library. That spirit-lifting self-satisfaction that's warm and fuzzy when I slipped that book into the dropbox was indescribable. No turning around and reaching for my Go! Card. No library fines for the past 2 months!
"All things reach for their piece of the sun" and my sun seems to be the colours all around. It's amusing to even myself that I get excited when I see the rows and rows of products lined up in the supermarket. So bright, so wonderful, so mind-intriguing. That honey-baked ham became my purpose.
Happy Feet 2 the night before brought my happy back.
I throw my heart out because I'm in love with life; and I'm fine with being associated with that side-glancing bunny logo. That will be my answer if you're going to ask if I'm in love.
When matters get out of hand, I would unleash my arsenal of "Whys" at myself to find the root of the cause(s). Thereafter, it's one's choice to act upon and eliminate or dampen the effects.
No, don't get me wrong. The equation above was chanced upon from a text and I'm using it as an instance.
The fluorescent lights in my room weren't switched off, but I recalled pushing the switch before I knocked out. My eyelids were fighting back that brilliant shine and so reluctant to open. I seriously remembered switching off those lights before I jumped on my bed! Under the barrage of those photons, coupled with the just-woke-up effect, grogginess poisoned my body and left me paralyzed while I kept replaying the scene of pushing that accursed switch.
Finally, I estimated it to be 3 minutes later, I decided I could drive the light rays to a retreat. I decided wrong as the relentless shine broke through my ocular and mental barricade. I shut my eyes immediately with the brief onset of slight burning in them. It was unimaginable to fathom the strength, the intensity, of the twin fluorescents in my room. I felt powerless.
Then, I committed to memory and left my room eyes closed. It's amazing when you become so familiar with a place that you can see it at through the back of your palm eyelids. The shine subsided for a moment, and it came back when I took a few more steps into the living room. I judged from the redness of what I could see. And what I saw was the back of my eyelids. Then, like in a First-Person Shooter game, a minimap popped up at the top right of my 'screen'. I just chose it to be there subconsciously.
I reached the checkpoint, my study, where I knew my eyes were free from the temporary nemesis. I grabbed the window grille and cast my sight upon the sky.
It was dark and kind of purplish. A few stars appeared as my vision adjusted accordingly.
The sky seemed to be created by nature to entertain my (sorry for being self-centred) our puny existence.
Since I witnessed a friend viewing this page and singing to some of the songs, which I got from youtube, I thought I could get a Karoake Karaoke Version (with bigger words).
I logged in to messenger, 3 nights back, with a surprise as Ms. Christina threw concerns for her past A-Maths tutees. Technically, it's incorrect of me to address her as Ms. Christina 'cause of her status. However, I would feel weird if I call her by name, which I do to my other more fledged friends, as I still see her as a teacher.
How about Mrs. Christina? Or even Mdm. Christina? Those couldn't fit into my mouth and I just want to be respectful. Anyways, I'm biting my own tongue by giving her a nickname!
Under this paragraph is a great finding, but I doubt that's the official video! When I closed my eyes and let the music play, it was as though I'm listening in on a conversation between a couple seated near me.
Please don't say we're done When I'm not finished I could give so much more Make you feel, like never before Welcome, they said welcome to the floor
It's been a while And you've found someone better But I've been waiting too long to give this up The more I see, I understand But sometimes, I still need you
Sometimes, I still need you [x7]
And I was struggling to get in Left waiting outside your door I was sure You'd give me more
No need to come to me When I can make it all the way to you You made it clear You weren't near Near enough for me
Heart skipped a beat And when I caught it you were out of reach But I'm sure, I'm sure You've heard it before [x4]
Uneven tips, unclean cuts, tells an unspoken tale of poor fingernail-cutting.
Many of the songs I heard from James Morrison seemed to propagate an emotional frequency that's in tune with mine and I like them. This is a second music video, in my blog, of James Morrison and you might want to check out (again) the Please Don't Stop The Rain in one of my previous posts. It can be found in "the featured" section to the right column.

After checking my fingernails, I realized that one of my fingernails wasn't trimmed yet. Even after I let a few know, that tough piece of keratin continued to grow after a few days of being absent on my part. So I decided to cut it. After inspecting my fingernails, for maybe a minute I couldn't stop chuckling as the uneven shapes of my nails prove my poor skills.
Having caught a long gaze at my fingers, Jing Ying even claimed that the mark under my right index finger resembled a bespectacled devil with a halo above its head, which in turn resembled its master. Just for your information, I got that mark after getting my finger clasped by the door. Nevertheless, I got back at her, by congratulating her for getting a nasty nail colour that complemented her personality, neglecting the possibility that her remark could turn out to be a compliment.
Absence make her heart grow fonder While I'm conquering the last frontier Lately I've found myself wonderin' out loud Wonderin' what I was doin' here
One day you'll understand how much you have me One day you'll realise we have it easy I can't offer you the future - I don't know it myself All I can offer you is me I'm all I can offer you right now
Patience make her heart grow stronger Reassure her she's where I want to be Never was the grass ever greener I'm about ready as I'll ever be
And one day you'll understand how much you have me One day you'll realise we have it easy If an expression of love is what you need to believe All I can offer you is me I'm all I can offer you right now
I'm all I am All I am, yeah
One day you'll understand how much you have me One day you'll realise we have it easy I can't offer you the future - I don't know it myself All I can offer you is me
One day you'll understand how much you have me One day you'll realise we have it easy If an expression of love is what you need to believe All I can offer you is me I'm all I can offer you right now
Absence make her heart grow fonder While I'm conquering the last frontier
I'd always been amazed by my classmates' efforts showing in presentations before and it's, nonetheless, still as awe-inspiring to be involved in the Human Factors (HF) debate the day before. Even though we weren't given a choice. I patted myself on the back for a job seemingly well done. Never to forget, Jie Han praised me too! My teammates were an awesome bunch even though they'd missed classes a lot!
Anyways, I'm anticipating my buddy - Wen Jin's return so we can have a dinner with everyone else. However, I regretted a little for canceling the ZoukOut night due to poor response. In regards to that, we'd be planning something else and Zhi Xiang has something in mind. Also, Benjamin would be keeping the Grey Goose untouched. Yup, we're all waiting for Sir W J Toh to return from Brunei!

Regardless of the closing part of the video, please enjoy
You might think it's cool being called "Snowman", but the name didn't come about because of my character. The origin of this nickname was of a snowman key ring being taken away from me by Rong Hui although I still couldn't recall about that incident, much less about the looks of the key ring. Either I was generous or she had a dominating vibe then.
Three days ago, Maurice brought the five of us (namely Benjamin, Wen Jin, Jack, Zhi Xiang and I) to restaurant named Poison Ivy, which was situated in Bollywood Veggies.
This was where the bus would arrive at, but we missed it and took a cab here.
What better way than to take an imaginary puff while waiting for the second cab.
After our meal, we put our feet into the farm behind the restaurant under the scorching sun.
I couldn't help but relate this to Journey To The West (西游记).
There were different species of bananas behind this Lookout Point.
Jack tried the loo out while Wen Jin had his hands on Mr. Pee-Wee next to the Jack-A-Loo.
The eccentric lady boss or lady warrior of Poison Ivy gave us a lecture, a book for $10, sugarcane each and sent us on our way home. However, we got lost and walked back to the entrance. Then, Benjamin's father came to our rescue.
The consensus is that the silence between us holds our precious relation, which got much clear when I did the ginga - the basic step of Capoeira.
Not that I can be proud of, the smooth moves brought me back to those Thursday nights at YMCA with Eu Sou Bantus Capoeira, which was the training school. Recalling my first training, I was as stiff as a rock. My steps were awkward and had probably gave headaches to the Master. Gradually, either the Brazilian tunes got into me or the other way round, improvements were recognized. The Master kept repeating "Go with the flow" and I kind of got what that meant.
Outside school, I like to ginga in an imaginary circular boundary with closed eyes and amaze myself when my combination of moves get myself back on the starting spot.
Skipping my history of Capoeira, I should go face the "estimated required safe landing distance" already.
If one were to ask me to stop drinking for my own sake, I wouldn't as there isn't any reason for me to heed.
If there was a more effective method to curb my drinking habits, I can pledge my honour to the above picture for the past three weeks. That picture was a really useful reminder as it, you might be able to comprehend, represents the middle finger, which is usually used for perpetrators who hit the wrong note. As such, in my case, my boozing had become a misconduct to the ones whom I made a promise to.
I could already see myself ordering Ribena in a pa-bu (also commonly spelled as "pub" in English) while my friends down those sinful glasses. I know Ribena is rare or not at all in drinking havens, but it would be more absurd if I'd had used "Teh-O" or "Milo-Siu-Dai". I just didn't want "orange/apple juice" 'cause that's too common in phrases.
