Working class hero-to-be.
Lesson's ended at 12pm and we headed to Foodcourt 2 (FC2) to have our lunch. While we listened to Jie Han sounding off his working pains, I recalled my past jobs woes. My first ever official job was a waiter at Cantina (The Food and Wine Stop) in Holland V, whereby Ms. Christina introduced to Wen Jin and I. The restaurant had a little poise to it with it's italian flavour. I liked table 69 best as it was al fresco under a tree with low-hanging branches; at a corner. The setting was
perfetto for a date!
And there's still the main eatery, La Cantina in Venezia, at Changi Village Hotel.
I'd no complains as a waiter there, except probably a keen on the late, long, bus rides to Bukit Panjang LRT then home.
Follwing that, I was a promoter for The Chocolatier switching to and fro Takashimaya and OUB Centre. In Taka, I'd say it was fun! There was Godiva Chocolatier beside and the promoters were rummy (if there's no better word to describe them).
Haryana had dyed a hair of blonde and was already a mother despite her youthful looks.
Sam's a joker, se-hila-riously. Bear + Low rise jeans = Sam.
And not to forget Clarence who's an insomniac at night (for real). His eyelids were always droopy in morning shifts and always radiant (as if they were polished with Brasso) during afternoon shifts.
My lady boss, Avril, and her parents treated me well. I'm thankful to them and to Dyonna, Wee Kiong and Hong Sheng who were my regular partners. I owe my job to Joel Kho who was an experienced promoter there himself.
It was the best job I'd ever gotten, yet!
Then, there was the F1 Night Race where I was a porter carrying loads ....
Jie Han left for work at NUH quite reluctantly, but he's still funny in many ways.
Well ... I'm still pondering about my future occupation.
